Donations

The Currie and Balerno News Limited, publisher of C&B News, has long been in the fortunate position of being able to pass on any surpluses generated by the magazine to deserving local causes and community projects.

We have contributed to a wide variety of groups and events – from school clubs, scouts and brownies to musicians, fairs, exhibitions, concerts and community councils – and have helped with the purchase of a plethora of equipment including team kits, goal posts, cookers, gates and even a defibrillator.  

We welcome requests from local non-profit making, apolitical groups, organisations or individuals whose main purpose is to benefit the five communities within the paper’s distribution area: that is, Balerno, Currie, Juniper Green, Baberton Mains, and/or Colinton.

Decisions regarding donations rest with the management team of The Currie & Balerno News Limited (not the editor) who assess each application against agreed criteria. All we ask from successful applicants is an article about the grant and some photographs – the more the merrier! – for inclusion in a future issue of C&B News.
